Tonight: Party like it’s derby

Well, almost.  I have a feeling if I showed up in my gigantic pink hat and have one too many Lilys I may stick out like a sore thumb.  So we’ll treat this party like a warm-up.  After all it is the very first Derby celebration of the year: the 32nd Annual Poster Premiere Party!

Who is the talented artist in 2012? Why it’s Andre’ Foreman! About the artist:

A Louisville native, is a full-time artist with studio space at the Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center. He is a self-taught visual artist and sculptor, with an emphasis in oil and watercolor painting. A showing of Foreman’s work — “Ode to Woman: The Poetics of Movement”–was shown at the Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center.

I can’t wait to see the 2012 design!  If you’re downtown around 5:30 pm, join me at the Henry Clay Building for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction.  There is a free gift for the first 1,000 people.  Tickets are $25 at the door. Cheers to a fantastic derby season and all the culinary goodness it brings.

Update- Here is the official 2012 poster:
