Date Night

One of the most common text messages I receive about Louisville restaurants is: MEG! WHERE SHLD I GO 4 DATENIGHT???

I figured since my date night spots are regularly changing I would tell you where I would go RIGHT NOW based on how much money I want to spend, with a link to my full review of the restaurant. Let me know your favorite spots around Louisville to take your loved one!

My dining out budget is, well, obscene. But here are my top choices when I want to spend money with my honey.

$- (less than $25) Mai’s Thai

When you’re going for the cheap date night, it’s key to take your partner to a place that they never heard of that has excellent food.  Then instead of focusing on the inexpensive bill your date will praise you for sharing the well-kept secret! That’s why I chose Mai Thai, a kitschy hole-in-the wall in Southern Indiana.  Expect a 30 person dining room, one person wait staff, and authentic home-style Thai food.  The food is amazing right down to the homemade sweet and sour sauce from Mai, a woman who moved here from Thailand when she was only 18.  Read my review to learn the story of Mai and her journey to open this restaurant to impress your date with while you are dining!

Address: 1411 E 10th St in Jeffersonville

$$- ($25-$50): Ghyslain
Ghyslain (pronounced gis-slay) is a French café that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on East Market Street downtown.  Dine on amazing French food, wine, champagne, and treat your date to an array of dessert treats from gelato, chocolates, truffles and gorgeous specialty desserts.  Go during dinnertime when the crowds die down and grab a spot on the patio.   Ghyslain is definitely a great alternative to a more expensive sit down restaurant in the casual environment of a café, with flair only the French can bring.

Address: 721 E. Market Street in Downtown Louisville

$$$ ($50 to $100): The Village Anchor

The Village Anchor will make you feel transported! Treat your date to gorgeous nautical themed homes, amazing lake views and the cutest restaurants all nestled together with the flagship being the Village Anchor.  And all 8 minutes away from the Summit! The food is carefully crafted and the atmosphere is romantic with candles, angel statues, and fireplaces at night.  Check out their outstanding hand-cut sweet potato fries with rosemary salt and vanilla/brown sugar seasoning.  Served with a creamy marshmallow dipping sauce. Giggle at your bill the server hands you tucked into hilarious pages of a romance novel.

Address: 11507 Park Road Anchorage, KY 40223

$$$$ ($100+): Corbett’s Restaurant

Corbett’s is all about the details from start to finish.  Expect top of the line food in a gorgeous 1800’s house setting.  Service at Corbett’s is top notch having won a AAA Four Diamond Award and are ranked one of the top 100 best American cuisine restaurants on Open Table.  While on your date night be adventurous and try the $65 a person 5-course Chef tasting meal, which really ends up being 8 courses with the addition of the amuse bouche (one bite starter), bread course and the second mini desserts. And if it’s your anniversary or birthday they’ll bring you out a round of champagne.

Address: 5050 Norton Healthcare Boulevard
