It’s Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

It’s the invasion of the comfort sandwich in Louisville, now with the opening of Tom & Chee, the grilled cheese shop on Bardstown Road, and the PBJ Shop, giving new life to the former 3rd Street Dive bar in downtown Louisville. (Warning to those who click on the PBJ Shop’s website, get ready to have ‘peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat’ song stuck in your head!)

A must of all peanut butter jelly shops: bread shaped chalk boards.

Owner Corey Spencer opened his doors this year on March 15th and says the most popular sandwiches on the menu are the Nutty Monkey Sandwich, with peanut butter and banana slices, and the Sizzling PB Sandwich with peanut butter and bacon slices.  I’m also particularly interested in the Peanut Butter and Jelly Sushi Roll, which takes your standard sandwich and packages them to look like little sushi rolls. So cute.  But don’t worry, no fish!

Display your love of the PB&J for all the world to see! Nice use of the former Third Street Dive stage.

Third Street Dive moved a few doors down, but it’s decor is known for being edgy, dark, and covered in chalk graffiti. The PBJ Shop transformed the space to light, airy, and frankly adorable soda shop meets comfy family room space.  You can nibble on every variation of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, create your own, or take out a brown bag lunch with a sandwich, chips and drink.  The brown bag will set you back $5.

Support this local business! Like the PBJ shop on Facebook. You’ll be treated to a joke of the day if you do.

440 S. 3rd Street in downtown Louisville. Open Monday thru Friday 7:30a-4:30p. Call 502-618-2280 for delivery/catering.

Call me frustrated. I’ve been trying for 3 days to contact someone with The PBJ Shop, by phone, by facebook… I even stopped by the shop today during business hours. It was closed! The bar manager from Third Street Dive said he saw someone at the shop YESTERDAY but no one today. Are they out of business?!?! I’m trying to do a large amount of business with this establishment on July 4th, but so far no one has returned my messages or phone calls. ???????????????? I would LOVE for someone to contact me and at least tell me “sorry I’m out of business”, if that’s the case or “sorry, I’m not interested in your business after hours” if that’s the case. Thank you for giving me a place to attempt to make contact with ANYBODY related to this company!

  • That’s crazy I was there last week! I’m going to do some hunting and let you know if I hear anything Aimee!!
